Fehervar vs. Olimpija: Winner gets the matchpuck
For the second time in the quarterfinal series Sapa Fehérvár AV19 lost its lead with a 6-4 loss to Olimpija in Ljubljana.

„After a good start we managed to ruin our game. For one part, we worked a lot and we created many quality scoring chances but we were not effective in many of these cases. This itself would not have been such a big problem but we were not disciplined in many cases and we made mistakes that we had no time to correct. Our opponent played well but I believe that we were the cause of our own loss. We scored three powerplay goals but so did Olimpija which means that our special game worked well partially and worked badly for the other part. Based on the previous results some of our players made the mistake of believing that this will be an easy task for us“, summarized Lajos Énekes, the assistant coach for Sapa Fehérvár AV19.

The coaching staff for the Hungarian team believes that there is no reason to despair but the team cannot allow itself to play with so many mistakes again because the series is coming to an end and there are only three games left. “Tomorrow we will play on home ice again where we have been playing well recently. Today we will evaluate the experiences of the previous game and we will try to create order in the heads of the players. Our players are capable of playing much more disciplined, much smarter games and this is necessary to ensure that we advance from the quarterfinals. We cannot and shouldn’t underestimate our opponent but we must play every game concentrating on our own strengths. We cannot leave holes in our defense. We are certain that it will be a tough game tomorrow but we must once again prove that we are capable of victory. We would like to dictate high tempo again which could be a key element once more in the game“ – said Lajos Énekes.
